清华大学建筑设计研究院成立于1958年,为国内知名建筑设计机构。2010年11月,清华大学建筑设计研究院获教育部批准进行改制,于2011年1月5日改制为清华大学建筑设计研究院有限公司(THAD),注册资本人民币5000万元。2011年11月,THAD被认定成为北京市“高新技术企业”。

THAD依托于清华大学深厚广博的学术、科研和教学资源,作为建筑学院、土水学院等院系教学、科研和实践相结合的基地,十分重视学术研究与科技成果的转化,设计水平在国内名列前茅。2011年,被中国勘察设计协会审定为“全国建筑设计行业诚信单位”。2012年10月,被中国建筑学会评为“当代中国建筑设计百家名院”。2013年11月,被中国勘察设计协会评为“全国勘察设计行业创新型优秀企业”。

THAD现有工程设计人员1300余人,其中包括中国科学院、中国工程院院士6人,勘察设计大师4人,国家一级注册建筑师228人,一级注册结构工程师74人,注册公用设备工程师39人,注册电气工程师16人,注册城乡规划师30人,咨询工程师(投资)19人。THAD设有九个综合性分院、八个专项研究设计分院(工程分院、城乡发展规划研究分院、文化旅游设计研究分院、建筑环境与节能设计研究分院、医疗健康工程设计研究分院、建筑产业化设计研究分院、建筑策划与设计分院、建筑全过程设计分院)、六个院士和大师工作室、三个建筑专业所、八个专项设计所(文化遗产保护中心、结构专业所、工程咨询所、绿色建筑工程设计研究所、水利水电工程设计研究所、风景园林设计研究所、宜居城乡规划设计研究所、工程结构诊治与城市交通设计技术咨询中心),以及以教师创作为特色的创新设计研究分院及三个教师工作室,此外还有四个院级研究中心(清华大学建筑设计研究院有限公司-康宁翰设计集团-清尚集团联合研究中心、照明与智能化研究中心、公共建筑工程后评估中心和检测中心),以职业精神、专业素养承担建筑师和工程师的责任和义务。

近年来,由THAD设计并建成的工程已获得国家级、省部级优秀设计奖达六百余项,位居全国建筑设计机构前列。科研方面,THAD完成了中国南极中山站、长城站、昆仑站的站房建筑设计工作;主编及参编了多项国家、地方及行业标准;科学探索,拥有100多项专利技术。学术方面,主编了《建筑设计资料集》第二分册,参编了《建筑学名词》;作为产学研的平台,自2011年起被教育部确认为全日制专业学位硕士研究生联合培养基地。管理方面,已获得中国(CNAS)和英国(UKAS)质量管理体系认证证书。

THAD积极发展国际间的交流与合作,与法国、美国、英国、日本、德国、澳大利亚、韩国、丹麦以及挪威等十几个国家和地区的高等学校、科研机构、设计单位和业主有着良好的合作关系。

Profile

Founded in 1958, the Architectural Design & Research Institute of Tsinghua University (THAD) is a leading architectural design institute based in Beijing, China. Approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China for restructuring in November 2010, the THAD was later transformed into Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University Co., Ltd. on January 5, 2011, with a registered capital of 50 million RMB. In November 2011, THAD was qualified as one of the HNTEs in Beijing.

Benefiting from the rich academic, research, and teaching resources of Tsinghua University, THAD attaches great importance to academic research and the commercialization of technological achievements. These factors jointly contribute to our top-ranking performance in urban planning and design. In 2011, THAD was accredited by China Exploration & Design Association as a “Good Faith Unit in Architectural Design Industry”. In October 2012, THAD was accredited by the Architectural Society of China as one of the “Top 100 Famous Architectural Design Institutes in Contemporary China”. In November 2013, THAD was honored by China Exploration and Design Association as an “Innovative Company of Excellence in Exploration and Design Industry”.

The Architectural Design & Research Institute of Tsinghua University (THAD) now has a top-ranking design team with more than 1,300 engineers and architects, including 6 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 4 national design masters, 228 national first-class registered architects, 74 first-class registered structural engineers, 39 registered utilities (mechanical and plumbing) engineers, 16 registered electrical engineers, 30 registered city planner, and 19 consulting engineers. THAD has 9 comprehensive branches, 8 research branches, 6 studios headed by academicians and national design masters, 3 architectural design sections, and 8 special design branches (including Cultural Heritage Preservation Center, Structural Specialist Branch, Engineering Consulting Branch, etc.), as well as innovative & design research branches established by professors from School of Architecture of Tsinghua University, 3 professor design studios, and 4 research centers (Joint Research Center of THAD, Cunningham Group and Beijing Tsingshang Architectural Design and Research Institute, Lighting & Intelligent Research Center, Post-Occupancy Evaluation Center for Public Buildings, and Inspection Center). Fulfilling responsibilities and commitments as architects and engineers with professionalism and expertise.

THAD has won over 600 national, provincial and ministerial excellent design awards for the projects we have designed and completed, ranking in the front among China’s architectural design institutes. In scientific research, we have completed the design of the buildings for China’s Zhongshan Station, Great Wall Station, and Kunlun Station at the South Pole; taken charge of and participated in the preparation of many national, local and industrial standards; and obtained more than a hundred patents. The TUS engineering design software independently developed by our Institute has passed national accreditation. Academically, we have edited Volume 2 of Architectural Design Data Collection and participated in the compilation of the Terminology of Architecture. In 2011, the Ministry of Education confirmed the establishment of a training base for a full-time professional master’s degree joint program, supplying talent to the architecture industry. In management, we have obtained the QMS certificates of CNAS and UKAS.

THAD actively develops international exchanges and cooperation. We have established good cooperative relationships with colleges and universities, research institutes, design units, and owners in more than ten countries and regions including France, the United States, UK, Japan, Germany, Australia, ROK, etc..

Since its establishment, THAD has always been laying emphasis on quality, following the struggle goal of “designing elaborately, creating fine works, transcending ourselves and striving to be first-rate”, and cordially providing top-level designs and services for all clients in China and abroad.
